Department of Natural Resources, Proposed Amendments to
Rules Governing Aquatic Plant Management
The ALJ Report of Judge Luis has been issued on the proposed rules of the Department of Natural Resources governing aquatic plant management (Minnesota Rules, Chapter 6280). The rule now goes to the agency for adoption. The public exhibits, public comments, and other documents relating to the rules remain available on this page.
General Information
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' proposed rules governing aquatic plant management (Minnesota Rules, Chapter 6280) have been assigned to Judge Luis. Judge Luis will issue a report with respect to the proposed rules in January. This website is intended to provide useful and timely information in connection with the rulemaking proceeding.
As part of the rulemaking process, hearings were held in four different locations across Minnesota on November 3, 5, 6, and 7, 2008. During the hearings, a twenty-calendar-day period was set for the receipt of written comments regarding the proposed rules. Thus, the initial deadline for the submission of written comments in that rulemaking proceeding is 4:30 p.m. on December 1, 2008 (due to the Thanksgiving holiday).
After the period for submission of written comments ends, state law provides the agency and all interested persons an additional period of five working days for filing a written response to any comments which were submitted during the initial comment period. New matters may not be introduced or raised during this five-day rebuttal period. The five-day rebuttal period will expire at 4:30 p.m. on December 8, 2008.
Interested members of the public can e-mail, mail, fax, or deliver public comments to Judge Luis concerning the proposed rules. His address is as follows:
