In the Matter of the Petition of Chisago City for Annexation of Unincorporated Property in Wyoming Township

NOTICE OF RECONVENED HEARING

          The City of Chisago City has petitioned the State for authority to annex certain land.  A public hearing concerning this Petition will be held beginning on Monday, November 8, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. in the Chisago City Council Chambers, Chisago City Hall, 10625 Railroad Avenue, Chisago City, Minnesota.  The hearing will be before Administrative Law Judge Kathleen D. Sheehy.

          This is a continuation of a hearing originally held on January 23, 2004.  It is not necessary that a person have attended that hearing in order to participate in this hearing.  The only formal parties to this proceeding are the City of Chisago City and Wyoming Township. 

On November 11, 2004, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., at the Chisago City Community Center, 10825 Lake Boulevard, Chisago City, Minnesota, any person interested in this matter will be given an opportunity to present oral statements and to submit written data, statements or arguments.  Persons appearing should bring all evidence, including any records or other documents, which they would like to have considered.  The hearing will be conducted pursuant to the procedure set out in Minn. Rules, Chapter 6000.  A copy of the Rules may be purchased from the Minnesota Bookstore, telephone: 651/297-3000.  The Rules are also located on the Internet at www.revisor.leg.state.mn.us.  Persons seeking more information about the hearing procedure should contact Judge Sheehy at 612/341-7602.

          The property proposed for annexation in this Petition (as amended) is described as follows:

Lands in Township 33 North, Range 21 West:  All of Sections 2, 11, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25, and 26 in Township 33 North, Range 21 West, Chisago County, Minnesota; and also all of that part of Section 1 and of Section 12, in Township 33 North, Range 21 West, Chisago County, Minnesota, except the City of Chisago City, Chisago County, Minnesota; and also all of that part of Interstate Highway No. 8, Chisago County, Minnesota, from a point beginning at the west edge of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, in Township 33 North, Range 21 West, Chisago County, Minnesota, then continuing generally southwesterly in Section 27 and Section 34 in Township 33 North, Range 21 West, Chisago County, Minnesota, to a point ending 2,800 feet west of the east edge of Section 33 in Township 33 North, Range 21 West, Chisago County, Minnesota, as said Interstate Highway No. 8 exists in Section 27, Section 34, and Section 33 in Township 33 North, Range 21 West, Chisago County, Minnesota. 

          Following the close of the hearing, the Administrative Law Judge will issue a written final decision pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 414.
