In the Matter of the Application for a High Voltage Transmission Line Route Permit for the Hiawatha Transmission Project

ORDER GRANTING INTERVENTION TO MIDTOWN GREENWAY COALITION

On June 19, 2009, Midtown Greenway Coalition (Coalition) filed a Petition to Intervene in this proceeding pursuant to Minn. R. 1400.6200.  In support of its petition, the Coalition stated that it is a grassroots organization involved in the development of the Greenway trail through South Minneapolis.  Each of the 17 neighborhoods along the Lake Street/Midtown Greenway Corridor has representation on the Coalition’s board of directors.  The Coalition asserts that it represents a community perspective on the possible routes for the Hiawatha Transmission Project, and that the routing, mitigation, construction and design will directly affect the interests of the Coalition and its members that can not be adequately represented by other parties to the proceeding.

The current parties to this proceeding, the Applicant, Northern States Power Company, and the Office of Energy Security have no objection to the Coalition’s Petition.

ORDER

          IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:

1.               The Coalition’s Petition to Intervene as a party with full rights is GRANTED.

2.               The Coalition’s representative shall be added to the OAH Service List.
