In the Matter of the Application for a High Voltage Transmission Line Route Permit for the Hiawatha Transmission Project

ORDER GRANTING INTERVENTION TO WELLS FARGO BANK

On January 14, 2010, Wells Fargo Bank, National Association (Wells Fargo Bank) filed a Petition to Intervene in this proceeding pursuant to Minn. R. 1400.6200.  In support of its petition, Wells Fargo Bank stated that it is a national banking association with local offices, including office buildings, parking lots and green space located at 2701 Wells Fargo Way in Minneapolis, Minnesota, referred to as the Wells Fargo Campus.  It has been informed that possible sites for a Hiawatha Transmission Project substation include portions of the Wells Fargo Campus, including a surface parking lot, west of the parking garage on 4th Avenue South and East 28th Street, used by its employees and invitees, and green space.  It contends that the possible loss of either of the pieces of property will significantly disrupt its business, employees and invitees, and could interfere with future development of the site.  Also, it has significantly invested in improvements on the property.   It implies in its petition that the current parties to the proceeding will not fully represent its interests.

The current parties to this proceeding, the Applicant (Northern States Power Company), the Office of Energy Security, Midtown Greenway Coalition, City of Minneapolis, Crew2, Inc., Hennepin County, Little Earth of United Tribes, Longfellow Community Council, Seward Neighborhood Group, Inc., Corcoran Neighborhood Organization and Phillips West Neighborhood Organization, have not filed an objection to the Wells Fargo Bank’s Petition for Intervention within seven days of service of the petitions.
