PREHEARING ORDER

A prehearing conference was held on June 13, 2000 at the Office of Administrative Hearings before Administrative Law Judge Richard C. Luis. Sarah Walter, Assistant Attorney General, 445 Minnesota Street, Suite 1200, St. Paul, MN 55101-2130, appeared for the Department of Commerce. Carolyn V. Wolski, Attorney at Law, 150 South Fifth Street, Suite 2300, Minneapolis, MN 55402, appeared for Principal Life Insurance Company. For scheduling reasons, the matter has been reassigned to the undersigned. Upon review of the tape recording of the prehearing conference:

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:

1. By July 13, 2000, the parties shall exchange the names of their witnesses.

2. Discovery shall end on September 8, 2000.

3. This matter is scheduled for hearing on September 19 and 20, 2000, at the Office of Administrative Hearings. The parties shall exchange final exhibit and witness lists and file a copy with this office by September 14, 2000. To the extent possible, the parties shall enter into prehearing stipulations regarding the facts involved in the hearing and foundation for anticipated exhibits.

4. No deadline was set at the prehearing for any dispositive or non-dispositive motions. Any party anticipating that such a motion may be brought shall set up a telephone conference with opposing counsel and the undersigned no later than July 21, 2000 to establish a schedule.
